Bechar 003 is a Lunar Feldspathic Breccia found near Bechar, Algeria, in 2022. It belongs to a group of likely paired Lunar meteorites from the same region, sometimes referred to as the Bechar 003 clan, which includes several closely related stones. As a Feldspathic Breccia, it represents fragmented material from the Moon’s ancient highland crust, formed and reworked by repeated impact events before a later impact ejected it into space.

Specimens of Bechar 003 typically show light brown weathered exteriors and medium grey interiors with small pale clasts. Many stones lack fusion crust, consistent with the published descriptions of the find. Prepared fragments and slices can reveal the brecciated lunar texture more clearly, with feldspar-rich material and impact-processed clasts set within a finer matrix. This structure reflects the long and complex impact history of the Lunar Highlands.

For collectors, Bechar 003 offers a recognised and accessible Lunar meteorite with strong scientific context and attractive brecciation. Its official classification, Algerian provenance, and connection to the ancient Moon make it especially appealing for Lunar collections. Each specimen represents genuine Moon rock, preserving material from the lunar highlands and the billions of years of impacts that shaped them.
